I guess the big wheels would be easier to operate with gloves on, which would be nice in Sweden (or here, today) in the winter, but wait a second, were those nylon wall anchors in that bag inside? Like this keybox would be attached to drywall or something?
From watching LPL's videos the decoding flaw is so common I wouldn't be surprised if they were all made in the same Chinese factory and OEMed to various brands and retailers.
Love your vids , and love learning lock sport. Only hang up I have is the tools u suggest from covert are all sold out ... Guess I go back to sparrows page . Hope your covert tools are restocked asap. Thx for everything.
Would this be improved if a key was inserted first, then the numbers set in place, followed by the turning of the key to open it but only if the numbers are correct? This way, the owner's left hand and right hand are occupied simultaneously, whereas a pair of thieves would need to work together?
I have one of these and you can actually open it with closed eyes. Whenever the wheels are turned to their right position it makes a distinct sound. ,😅👍
Låssmed från Sverige: Svenska lås är bäst! LPL: Kanske det bästa bara i Sverige. Låssmed från Sverige: Sann. Vi har låg brottslighet här. Så svaga lås är faktiskt mycket bra. Locksmith from Sweden: Swedish locks are the best! LPL: Maybe the best only in Sweden. Locksmith from Sweden: True. We have low crime here. So weak locks are actually very good.
Surprised the LPL would waste his time on a lockbox. He would chuckle and be in the door in seconds if he wanted to. Probably takes some Exlax and races to the locked bathroom door and picks it before he can use the bathroom as a speed test LOL
Just thinking out loud here: The lock has a bar that when pulled toward the front of the lock, allows for an easy "feel" of the correct position of each cylinder. An obvious (to me) security improvement would to place a 'guard bar' on each side of the 'picking bar' so that a picking tool cannot easily reach the lock's weak point.
I would really like to see you rekey a cylinder start to finish. If you have already done this could you tell me what video it is. I really enjoy your videos and you have inspired me pursue the art of locksmithing.
hey LPL, I'm someone looking to get into picking as a hobby, and I finally managed to make an order for the Genesis Set. I have a few cheap locks to play around with when my set shows up, but I was wondering if you had any good recommendations for an intro picker to get a bigger assortment of locks for a decent price. I'm also interested in the challenge locks I've seen you pick in the past, but don't know where to find a that sort of stuff. Thanks for all the videos!
Dear LPL... Ive been a viewer for around a year now and I didn't even seek out your material... I stumbled upon your content down the rabbit hole per say and let me tell you... I love it! You've been some of my most favorite videos to watch and you've even inspired me to start my journey into the locksport hobby! I had to post this comment today because I wanted to let you know I achieved a goal I set for myself which was to open a lock with a paper clip and voila! I actually opened four of the locks in my collection with it! Two Brinks 40mm locks with spools and two Master 40mm locks from different decades. I have to say thank you for the amazing and well thought out and presented content on ILclass my friend!
Nice work. I recently featured your method and the other old school way but I recommended using a very high hook, looks like that notched tool works a treat.
How many people out there do you think knew how to do that before you show them? now thousands of people out there can break into the box get the people's keys and go into their properties. thanks bud!
I have watched many of your videos and I just now subscribed. I find them gloriously mind numbing. Thanks for the Zen. I used to feel that way about the Teletubbies.
This is great but I would love to see the thought process when approaching locks you have never picked before. How do you decide on the tools, the picking approach? How do you find out what kind of lock it is, where are the weak spots? It's something we rarely see in this channel, the closest I can think of are the mailed gifts videos.
A question, how long do you need to figure out the exploits/ way to open, before you start to film?. what intrests me most, is how do you approach a lock that you dont know, and how do you figure out how to open it?
I know you prolly not going to see this but can anyone in the lock picking community tell me what locks are good for starting because I got a lock picking set for Christmas and it came with only a see through, very simple lock. I just started and I need suggestions.
I would recommend just getting some real locks, any you have laying around, or some cheap padlocks / door cylinders. Can buy cheap on eBay without keys sometimes.
