I would like to see how something this niche actually holds up in its actual use. The core would be just about on the ground and right next to the tire. Would that make it even more difficult to pick due to space constraints?
If the lock was locked on the bike, the ground would have interfered with applying tension to the lock. How long would this have added to the picking time? Edit:typo wad to was
After watching so many of your video, I feel we should sit down with you and design the best lock possible. Well not unpickable but really a pain in the neck lock that keeps resetting.
Setting is to get the pin in the unlocked position. They make a click sound/feel when set. Binding I believe is when the pin doesn't give the click sound or feel, which can indicate either the pin didn't completely set, the pin is a security pin (pins with odd shapes to mess with lockpickers) and you tripped the security feature, or it isn't quite the best and just sorta set itself. Springy is him describing the feel of the pins And dimple picking is picking a dimple lock, dimple locks being ones that use keys with the pin cuts on the flat face rather than the edge (supposed to mess with impressioning tools and the like which can act as universal keys)
I've watched hundreds of your videos but this is my first comment. I've been wondering if it wouldn't be an awful lot harder to pick the locks like you do if they were actually put in a place to secure something. Like bottom-of-the-keyway-tension in this video seems almost impossible if the lock was mounted near a wall and had a bike in it. How would one pick that? I'm not discrediting your skill. I've just been thinking about this numerous times in your earlier videos.
Everything we see in this land is a spinoff from the word of GOD, without GODS word there would be no structure here. You cannot build in the dark, you can only create off the master of creation which is the father by way of Jesus christ and the workings of the holy spirit. Satan imitates GOD and spins it too a negative light, he is not original, he is the overgrown child in the school of life who flunks out every yr and has to return too cheat yet again. There is no truth in him he spins off the truth to create deception, he disguises himself as an angel of light but yet he is full of darkness. For every 1 truth he brings 100 lies, he copies from the mind of GOD but yet gives the father no credit. 😒 He is full of deception, deceit and trickery and this entire world seems too be running after his ways 😔 GOD with his finger wrote on the tablets the commandments for man the knowledge of sin, and now today you have tablets that you glide across with your finger but there would be no tablet today if it wasn't spent off the original. Genesis marks the beginning of the bible and satan.... I mean sega liked it so much they made a genesis also. Moses was joyous too see that GOD had budded aarons rod, because whichever rod budded was whom the lord chose. When moses saw the rod it had sprouted forth budds, blossomed and plus it had almonds on it so in a mocking and blaspheming way they now produce candy called almond joy. The bible says in matthew 5:37 (KJV) but let you communications be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay; for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. So why last yr during the ronald mcdonald trumps "impeachment" did the house of representatives hijack the same thing for their session? They steal everything from the brainwork of GOD and they give him no credit 😌 The Lord in the book of judges ch7 broke his army down from 32,000 too 300 to go too war with gideon, showing how he weeds out and also how he can do much with little, then hollywood spins off this event and gives you the movie 300. No credit to GOD of course 😊 In the book of Ruth 4:7 it states that when men where confirming change and redeeming they would take one shoe off and give it too his neighbor, now the masons in our time hijack this one shoe covenant and place it in their rituals and the eastern stars which is the female branch of the masons placed it in thier "sacrifices". They spint off Jesus and the 12 disciples and gave you the distraction santa and the 12 reindeer. The 1st court appearance if you say was in the garden, they disobeyed and GOD head adams ple, adam called eve up too the stand and GOD heard her ple and satans jibber jabber, then he handed down jus punishment too them all. GOD is so far that he had 3 or more witnesses to assure that the situation was assessed properly, the father, the son and the holy spirit. 😇 1st samuel 11:2 nahash the ammonite told GOD's people that he would make a covenant with them if they allowed him to pluck thier right eye out, now hollywood does the one eye symbolism to signify they have abandoned the faith and made a covenant with heathen ways.
Going on a "lift the bike into a utility" type theft, those concrete bolts are VERY thin, short and small, and the shackle holding the lock to the bolts, if the location was suitable, and the owner/s were going to be away for a while, a hammer and a long sharp cold chisel, with a narrow angled edge, would make very short work of releasing the shackle. Not into motorcycle theft, I just like hammers and cold chisels.
If you can anchor the bracket into the floor at the base of a wall and orientate the lock so the keyway faces down, it makes it very difficult to drill the lock or cut the bracket with a grinder.
Bruh does Lpl make anyone else like NOT wanna buy locks anymore? Lol. Like what's even the point, a wild LPL could come pick it at any time. And lock companies QUAKE anytime he picks a lock
How hard is it to simply pull the core? Since it is affixed to a wall, I'd guess most of the force would go there instead of the wheel, hence giving it a chance to remain undamaged.
I have to say that lockpicking has been on my unofficial bucket list for years. Finally got started and I'm hooked, who knew how much fun it could be? I sure wish there were in-person classes to take, but the upside is that I've figured out every tool and practice lock on my own, everything's a learning experience. Thanks for the inspiration.
This one looks like a decent unit, oh wait un hardened bracket. Harbor freight battery powered grinder, harbor freight 4 1/2 cut off wheel take care of that then. Otherwise if picking and drilling are it's only weakness vs shimmy then upgrade the anchor bracket.
they could make it more pick resistant by having dimples in all contours of the keyway and maybe even some interactive elements . the bracket could be hardend and made thicker but while it will stop roll or drive away thefts it wont stop a couple good men from picking it up and putting it on a trailer or truck .
Suggestion: Show, don't tell, through demos of drilling, attacking un-hardened brackets, etc. The picking itself is wonderful; don't change a thing. But maybe film the additional stuff you say?
I love LPL but I feel some of his picks are not fully realistic. Like with this one he is holding the lock up off the table. In use, that thing would be as he said on the ground or low to the floor. Which would increase the difficulty some because of an unnatural position. The lock is still flawed but his fast pick times would probably be longer.
Lock it to a bike and then the flor then we can talk about how easy it is to pick it. Damn you and bill always say locks are easy to pick. Demonstrate in its environment then and not on the table spinning it how it fits you to pick it.......
Sometimes I’m not sure if the lock picking lawyer is trying to be helpful in consumer awareness and helping you get a secure lock. Or if they are trying to help lock pickers pick more difficult locks more easily. I’m hoping it’s the first one though.
I picked a school locker with a paper clip and all the things ive seen from your vids. I have no experience. Thanks for teaching me how to pick locks and i promise not to use it for bad things.
I wouldn't worry to much about the clamp not being hardened. Because it's going to be in a very awkward / near impossible place to cut with a motorcycle parked on it. As long as you put the lock underneath, that would also help.
I have a love / hate relationship with your videos. I love to see how fast you pick the locks and at the same time that's what I hate. I dare not buy any new locks any more, because no matter which lock I buy, it seems that you can still unlock them in less than 2 minutes. 😔
You know you've been watching too much LPL when you start to analyse the locks and keys you see out in the real world. Today I was waiting in the automatic car wash line (I'm lazy, whatever) and one of the employees was unlocking the machine you put your money into and choose your selection for the auto car wash. The outer padlock was okay, it had a high sheath(?) to prevent someone accessing much of the bar to do that 2 spanner attack etc. But both locks inside the access panel were unlocked using one of those simple vintage iron keys, the kind you might use for old wardrobes. I wasn't close enough to see the keyway or how the key was cut, but my guess is that it was a pretty standard key with no real notches cut into it. He removed a part that had notes in it, and took out a $10 note (I think it was bent/crumpled so the machine didn't like it), so it would have been pretty easy for a thief to access that money too. Didn't see a camera, and it could be 24 hour so it might be vulnerable when the employees aren't in the staff area a couple of metres from the box.
With this lock I'd imagine it might be a bit harder to pick when it's locked and on the ground. Because then you might not be able to insert the tension wrench the way you did in your video...
LPL i have a question that has got absolutely no relevance to the video. 1.) How many locks have you picked in your life? 2.) Could you do a more detailed version of all equipment you use 3.) I also have noticed you have done a video about how you practice lockpicking but i think its outdated and if you could make a updated version. (Or if nothing has changed)
